Salted Caramel Brownie

salted caramel brownie

Everyone loves a brownie. And salted caramel is virtually ubiquitous these days. The two together? Oh yes. This isn’t a recipe as such – because for the brownie part any recipe will work – but more of a how-to for the caramel layer in the middle part.

It’s really easy because it involves using shop bought Dulce de Leche, in this case Carnation caramel. You make your brownie mix, spread half in the tin and then carefully spread the dulce de leche over it. I found a fork works best. Don’t rush, do a fork full at a time and then sprinkle some sea salt over it. Finally, spread the remaining half of the brownie mix over and bake according to the brownie recipe instructions.

It’s that easy and it’s REALLY good.
